Emily Hampshire, of "Schitt's Creek," has issued an apology after she and a friend dressed up as Johnny Depp and Amber Heard for Halloween.

One of the most inconsiderate and foolish things I've ever done is something I want to talk about, Hampshire said on Instagram. "For Halloween, I stupidly thought it would be funny to dress as Johnny Depp and Amber Heard."

With her hair slicked back, Hampshire dressed as Depp, and her buddy dressed as Heard, both holding props that alluded to the horrific testimony delivered during the Depp-Heard trial. Images of Hampshire and her companion in their Halloween costumes have been removed.

Known for her role as "Stevie" on "Schitts Creek," the actor now says she regrets the costume she wore because it trivializes domestic violence.

She stated, "I am deeply sorry and ashamed that I put something so horrible into the world." "Domestic abuse is never, ever funny."

In 2022, when they each sued one other for slander, Depp and Heard became public figures. Depp filed suit against Heard in 2018 after she described herself in an op-ed for the Washington Post as "a public figure representing domestic abuse."
