India will advance to the 2023 Cricket World Cup semifinals with a win over Sri Lanka on Thursday, November 2, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai (they still have two group games to play).
Having been entered, India have made 357-8. Virat Kohli batted 88 and Shubman Gill scored 92. Shreyas Iyer, who batted late in the game, gave them a boost by scoring 82 runs off 56 balls with six sixes.
Sri Lanka has two qualifying goals, with two victories out of their first six games. If they finish in the top four in the World Cup, they will advance to the final four.
Unless they beat India, which is also implausible, this seems to be a long shot. Pakistan will host the next Champions Trophy, which will be played amongst the top seven or eight teams in the rankings.
That seems well inside their orbit. Find links to watch India vs. Sri Lanka and the rest of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 online here.
