Basketball season is approaching, and Thad McCracken's team is excited. Warrior basketball fans are excited since they return all of their starters and most of their bench, save for locker room captain Jason Gibson.
I'm thrilled for this season. Coach McCracken says the club is young but has some experience from last season. "The guys all seemed to have put in a lot of effort on their games as well as their bodies over the summer and have really been working hard so far in practice."
Caleb Squires aims to expand on his rookie season, when he averaged 9.8 points per game and shot 92.2% from the line, second in school history.
Daniel Cobb finally made his debut last season, starting 10 of 17 games. Cobb finished the season shooting 36% and 39.7% from beyond the arc. Darvis Rasberry Jr. hopes to play again after missing previous season due to injuries.
This season, the Warriors added Southeastern Oklahoma State transfer guard Max Chenault, Addison Shelton, Micah Gibbs, Ali Rasheed, and Zach Nolan.
Grove Gymnasium hosts the Warriors' season opener against the Ozark Eagles. Last season, both clubs won at home to split the series. Daniel Cobb scored 17 points and made the 3 to help the Warriors beat the Eagles. Colten Berry led the contest with 11 rebounds and 3 blocks. The game included nine lead changes and 4 ties.
The match will take place at Grove Gymnasium on November 8th at 8:00 PM. The Warrior Sports Network will be airing the games.
